The most important soccer game

Imagen
Hello everyone! I hope you are very well and are resting during this weekend. This week I will talk about my favorite soccer team and the most important soccer game in the world. One of my favorite hobbies is playing soccer and watching it. I remember when I was six years old, I saw for the first time a Real Madrid game. My father showed me this team and every weekend I watched the games with him. Until today I watch all the matches, but sometimes for personal matters or for the university I can´t watch them. The Spanish classic, known among the fans as "El Clásico", is the soccer match that faces the Real Madrid CF and the FC Barcelona. These teams are known and important worldwide, and there is a great rivalry between them. When I was little I lived in Spain, and the atmosphere that existed before "a classic" was great, there people live soccer with a lot of passion. Real Madrid and Barcelona have met 248 times in different competitions. Real Madrid have won 100...

Education

Hello everyone! I hope you all succeeded in this week of exams. Today in this blog I will talk about education and university life, something very important for our future.  As a first point, I consider that having a university degree doesn't guarantee a successful future, but it does help to have more options for a more comfortable life. Many people consider prestige to choose where to study. The prestige that state universities have, such as the Catholic University or the University of Chile, require more effort to their students, because the academic requirement and the academic charge is higher. That’s the price you have to pay to get a college degree at these universities. I honestly think that the number of hours we have in university are excessive, it could reduce a little the amount of hours of study and work in classes. One tip that helps me quite a bit in college, is to organize everything I have to do. I set goals and make specific plans for each task. And finally, what ...

Religion

Hello everyone! I hope you are well and have been able to rest. Today in this blog I will talk about religion in the world, a very interesting and broad topic. In the history of mankind, people have had beliefs, symbols or traditions to give meaning to life or to explain the origin of life or the universe. Religions, social and cultural structures have been important in the history of mankind. For example in Greece and Rome everything was dedicated to the gods, and they built temples to worship them. Later in Rome Christianity was adopted, and one thing I don´t agree with is that the Roman Empire forced people to believe in that religion. I believe that each person is free to decide whether to believe or not, of his own free will and not for imposition. One concept about religion is faith, which is basically a person’s belief or trust in something or a higher being, without having evidence to prove the truth of what is believed. For example, Christianity have faith in Jesus Chris...

Healthcare system

Hello everyone! In this blog I will give my opinion on health services in our country, an issue that concerns Chileans, because it is part of the quality of life.   In my opinion, the public health system in Chile is bad, and there is a contrast to the quality of the health of the private system, which is considered good. The waiting time for a medical consultation or hospitalization is much longer in public health than in private health. Also the price to have a medical consultation or perform a good quality treatment, is excessively expensive, and little accessible to people. One positive thing about health services is that recently, Chile has carried out one of the most successful Covid-19 vaccination campaigns in the world. It was one of the first countries in Latin America to begin vaccinating people against Covid-19. The vaccination process was carried out in spite of the high demand that existed at that time for vaccines worldwide. I consider it important to seek s...

Politics

Hi! In this blog I will talk about the importance of people voting in democratic processes, because the future and progress of each country depends on the votes. I consider that voting is important because each person must choose what they think is best for the country. Also, when more people get involved in voting, the winning option is more representative. When voting people should consider many aspects, for example, think about good health, studies, work, the economy and other aspects important for the development of the country or region where you vote. For example, in Chile, we are working to have a New Constitution, and it is very important that every person over the age of eighteen is involved in this process.  Voting is crucial to maintaining a fair democracy and can affect state policies for the future. Your vote can increase the chances of winning an election for your preferred candidate and help pass policies that reflect your values and community needs.  This is wh...

Architecture helps the world to be a better place

Imagen
Hi everyone! In this post I will talk about how architecture helps the world to be a better place. Architecture is very important because it is responsible for the construction of the spaces where we develop our life. Good architecture will provide us with comfort and a better quality of life. For example that all people can live in a house with good conditions.  Every construction pollutes the environment, and that’s why we have to start using less polluting materials to save the Earth because global warming is a very serious problem. In this process that I am studying architecture I think I can help the environment, to design buildings that take advantage of natural energy resources, for example using the sun to illuminate and regulate the temperature of houses. Good architecture contributes to the world because it serves the needs of people and also takes care of the environment and vegetation.

Hi everyone! In this post I will talk about a famous architect.   Alvaro Joaquim de Melo Siza Vieira is a portuguese architect.  He is 88 years old, he was born June 25, 1933 in Matosinhos, Portugal. Alvaro Siza is considered one of the main exponents of modern Portuguese architecture and one of the most important architects on the international scene. Alvaro as a child wanted to be a sculptor but he enrolled in Architecture because it was his father's wish. He has a degree in Architecture from the old Faculty of Fine Arts of the Porto University. He has also been teacher in Lausanne, Pennsylvania, Bogota and Harvard. He has worked in buildings in several countries, but most of his projects are in Portugal. He has also received several awards and recognitions during his lifetime. Personally I like his simplicity in his architectural works and how he uses geometric figures for his projects.
